Samsung Galaxy Note 6 release date, specs news: Speculated to be launched in Q3 2016?

Speculations abound concerning the official Samsung Galaxy Note 6 release date especially since the IFA (Internationale Funkausstellung) 2016, which is Berlin's largest consumer electronics trade show, is only a few months away. Many are eager to see if the actual smartphone would give justice to rumors surrounding its impending launch.

One of the loudest rumors is that the Galaxy Note 6 is more than likely to get an early autumn release date. Apparently, this was based on the seemingly inconsistent release dates of earlier Galaxy Note iterations – Notes 3, 4, and 5, which were launched September, October, and August respectively.

Evan Blass, a popular leakster who is usually highly accurate with his claims, tweeted this:

Another popular and highly prolific leakster, Steve Hemmerstoffer (@OnLeaks) shared blueprints comparing the Note 6 to the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S7 on Twitter.

Following through with that hazy schedule, it could be surmised that the Note 6 would be launched either late summer or early autumn. Nevertheless, Alphr noted that if the launch is announced at the IFA 2016, then Samsung Galaxy Note 6 release date would fall sometime in September.

Some features shared by Alphr, which consumers should expect from the Samsung Galaxy Note 6, include an iris scanner, 6 GB of RAM, a monstrous 256 GB of storage, a 5.77in 2K display, a bigger battery, a camera and processor similar to that of the S7, and a USB Type-C. Moreover, it is expected to run on Google's Android N software when it is finally launched. As for the price, it is rumored to be somewhere in the region of £650 or about $945.

Another buzz is that in order to keep in line with the flagship S7 handsets, the Note 6 would be called Galaxy Note 7 instead. According to the Korean IT news site ETNews, the rationale behind this is Samsung feels giving their yet-to-be-released device a lower number would give consumers the impression that it's something stemming out from previous generations and not something at par with Apple's iPhone 7 or the Galaxy S7.

Whether the Samsung Galaxy Note 6 release date would be made official come IFA 2016 or not remains to be seen. Nevertheless, check out this video uploaded on YouTube that discusses the various speculated features of the Galaxy Note 6.
