Samsung Galaxy Note 6 release date and specs rumors: New phablet to carry dual-edge display?

Despite Samsung's continued silence with regard to the development of a new Galaxy Note iteration, the rumors have stayed rampant. There are reports suggesting that Samsung may skip the Galaxy Note 6 model and release the Galaxy Note 7 to make sure it stays with the competition once they released it at the same time Apple rolls out the new iPhone 7. New reports have emerged saying that the new Galaxy Note 6 will carry a dual-edge display and will run on the much awaited Android N operating system.

The dual-edge display is nothing new to the company as the feature also made it to the recently released Galaxy S7 Edge. Apparently, Samsung is currently developing the new Galaxy Note model. If rumors prove to be true, the company will release two variants of Galaxy Note 6 â€“ one with dual-edge display and the other one with a flat screen. However, tech observers suggest that Samsung is only testing these two display technologies to see which one makes it to the overall design of the phone.

A recent leaked that was posted in uSwitch show the new Galaxy Note phablet with a curved screen, which could be an indication that Samsung has already decided on the dual-edge display.

Phone Arena has also posted another image of the supposed Galaxy Note 6 showing a curved screen. The rumors about the phablet carry the dual-edge display appear to be pretty consistent, which is why many believe that Samsung is opting for the curved design.

Meanwhile, numerous reports suggest that the device will run on the latest Snapdragon 823 SoC from Qualcomm, along with 6 GB of RAM for optimal usage. It will also carry a massive 5.8 inches super AMOLED screen with a 1440 x 2560 pixel resolution.

The company has yet to announce the device. Fans are still not sure if the next model will be a Galaxy Note 6 or a Galaxy Note 7. It will be interesting once Samsung issues an official statement with regard to these report
