Following its recent leaks online, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy J2 has been spotted on the FCC. Many fans believe that the new Android smartphone from the Korean tech giant will come out before the year ends.

The Federal Communications Commission or FCC is a regulatory agency of the United States that basically decides the release of any upcoming device. Now that the new Samsung Galaxy J2 made an appearance on the FCC listing, it could be an indication that the handset will hit the market anytime soon in the United States.

"Earlier today, an unannounced dual-SIM Galaxy-branded smartphone passed through the United States of America's official certification authority, the FCC. The handset was recorded carrying the model number SM-J210F, so we have good reason to believe that the device is, in fact, the long-rumored Galaxy J2 (2016)," stated in a report by Sam Mobile.

The new smartphone iteration will be the latest entry of Samsung in the mid-range market. The current Galaxy J2 2015 was doing really well when it came out last year, offering some serious specs at a reasonable price.

Meanwhile, Sam Mobile reported that the AnTuTu benchmark listed the upcoming Galaxy J2 with a 4.7-inch display. It will run on a 1.5 GHz Spreadtrum SC8830 quad-core processor, along with 2 GB of RAM. According to the listing, the device will have up to 16 GB of expandable storage capacity. It will also carry an 8 MP primary shooter and a 5 MP front snapper. According to the report, the latest Galaxy J2 iteration will come on a pre-installed Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. It will also have the latest version of TouchWiz user interface from Samsung.

As of the moment, many Samsung followers are still waiting for the company to officially announce the device. Although it has already made an appearance on the FCC, still nobody can tell if the handset will make it in the U.S. market this year.
