'Salem' season 3 spoilers, news: New promo revealed; EP hints 'unpredictable' season up ahead

The latest promo for "Salem" season 3 has been recently released, promising a "wild and unpredictable" ride for viewers once the show returns on Halloween week.
Later today (Friday, Oct. 7), the gripping supernatural thriller will take part in the New York Comic Con (NYCC) to reveal an extended trailer for the upcoming third season. Shane West, his co-star Janet Montgomery and series co-creators/executive producers Brannon Braga and Adam Simon will be at the NYCC panel to give more details on the show's much-anticipated return.
Prior to the event, however, the network recently released a new behind-the-scenes featurette. The 3-minute promo clip includes never-before-seen footages as well as commentary from some of the cast members including Shane West, Ashley Madekwe and Tamzin Merchant.
Rock icon Marilyn Manson is one of the latest additions to the program, and he will be portraying the role of villainous surgeon/barber Thomas Dinley. In the teaser, Manson describes his character as falling "somewhere between a really bad hair stylist and someone who cuts people up for fun to see what's in them."
"Salem" season 3 picks up with the witches plotting to remake the New World by bringing the devil to earth and letting him make Salem the capital. Upon the devil's arrival, however, it will be revealed that he has his own agenda and that is to bring slavery and death to the world — hoping to see humanity destroy itself. Only one person in the world can beat him, and it would be his presumed-to-be-dead mother Mary Sibley (Janet Montgomery).
According to Braga, the stakes are higher than ever before. "The only person that can destroy the boy is his mother, and when we begin the season, of course, she's dead," the EP teased in the clip.
The third season of "Salem" premieres on Wednesday, November 2 at 9 p.m. EST on WGN America.
