'Salem' season 3 spoilers: First look at rocker Marilyn Manson's haunting new character revealed

The devil will be one step closer to creating hell on earth, and a character portrayed by rock icon Marilyn Manson will help execute his grand plan on "Salem" season 3.
Set to premiere later this year, WGN America's supernatural sci-fi program's new teaser trailer has been released — giving fans a sneak peak of the creepy new character in town. Manson is set to recur as Thomas Dinley, the town's surgeon/barber and the devil's new ally for starting the New World.
"He has no moral balance," Manson told Entertainment Weekly, describing his role. He also pointed out some similarities they have in terms of interests. "The place where Dinley operates his business is not dissimilar to my home. I collect a lot of the medical devices," he continued.
Season 3 picks up on Mary's resurrection after dying in the season 2 finale. Her war against the devil continues, but her strength will be tested when faced with the devil's new allies. Thomas doesn't have anything to do with bringing her back but according to Manson, he will team up with the devil to defeat Mary once and for all. "My character ends up being something that could be called the devil's advocate or the devil's best friend," the singer hinted.
Drawing inspiration from the 17th century's real Salem witch trials, "Salem" follows the story of a powerful witch named Mary Sibley (Janet Montgomery). She controls the trials by creating hysteria among puritans while plotting the execution of the Grand Rite. However, complications arise when her long lost love John Alden (Shane West) comes back to her life. The series also features elements of gothic and horror romance.
Tune in to the premiere of "Salem" season 3 on Wednesday, Nov. 2 on WGN America.
