'Rogue One: A Star Wars Story' news, updates: Spencer Wilding seen as the new Darth Vader

The first trailer for the much-anticipated "Star Wars" spin-off movie, called "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story," has excited a lot of fanboys and fangirls around the world and the video already garnered millions of views since its release a few days ago. One of the most exciting things about the trailer is the glimpse of the popular "Star Wars" villain Darth Vader, and speculations have been passed around on the internet about the actor who will be playing the masked character.
Cinema Blend reported that actor Spencer Wilding was handpicked to portray the role of the fallen Jedi warrior in the upcoming "Star Wars" spin-off, although not much confirmed details coming from Lucas Films or Disney have been shared to the public. In spite of the uncertainty, Wilding seems to be a good candidate to be the person behind the hooded character at the moment if the rumors are to be believed. In the past, Wilding has played roles that required him to put on heavy make-up that make him almost unrecognizable. He also had roles that were mostly cameos.
In television, Wilding already made an appearance in HBO's hit series "Game of Thrones" as he was one of the White Walkers. He was also seen in some movies in a short role, with the most recent one being "Guardians of the Galaxy" as the prison guard who took the walkman of Star-Lord/Peter Quill (played by Chris Pratt). In these appearances, he was wearing thick make-up and prosthetics that people would not actually notice it was him.
Perhaps his role as Darth Vader in "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" will be his biggest one yet, and Flickering Myth reported that he will have long dialogues in the movie. However, it was rumored before that James Earl Jones will be dubbing a few lines for Darth Vader.
"Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" will hit the theaters on December 16, and the story is said to focus on the quest of a chosen few to know the secrets of the planet destroyer, the Death Star, in hopes that it will not be used again for the Empire's evil plans. It will serve as a prequel to the actual "Star Wars" film series, taking place before Luke Skywalker (played by Mark Hamill) begins training as a Jedi in "Star Wars: Episode IV."
