Musical artist Robin Thicke has recently revealed that he struggles with drug addiction and that he did not write the song "Blurred Lines" in a deposition made public in a Los Angeles federal court on Monday.

Thicke, along with fellow artist and producer Pharrell Williams and Clifford "T.I." Harris Jr. are being sued by the children of famed soul singer Marvin Gaye. Gaye's children claim Thicke, Williams and Harris Jr. ripped off their father's hit 1970's song "Got To Give It Up" when they created the 2013 summer hit "Blurred Lines."

In the deposition, Thicke seeks to distance himself from creating the song, saying that during the creation of "Blurred Lines," he was high on a mix of Vicodin and alcohol, adding that he "didn't do a sober interview" in 2013 while promoting the song and album.

"Every day I woke up, I would take a Vicodin to start the day and then I would fill up a water bottle with vodka and drink it before and during my interviews," he says in the disposition. "I don't recall many things that I said. In fact, I was quite surprised when I read them back sometimes."

Thicke also gave all of the creation credit for the song to Williams in the deposition, although the musical artist has claimed credit for the song in previous interviews.

"None of it was my idea," Thicke said of "Blurred Lines," adding "I was jealous and I wanted some of the credit […] I tried to take credit for it later because (Williams) wrote the whole thing pretty much by himself and I was envious of that."

Williams said in a separate disposition that although he did create the song, the piece wouldn't have gained as much popularity if Thicke hadn't been singing the vocals.
