'Rizzoli & Isles' season 7 spoilers, plot news: Showrunner says the duo's lives get crazier as season progresses; Maura's injury aggravates as Jane battles a zombie?
Maura Isles (Sasha Alexander) was shot in the season 6 finale, and while she wasn't seriously hurt, it appears she will be suffering from repercussions from the shooting incident.
Parent Herald reported that Maura would be showing troubling signs that could be connected to the subdural hematoma she suffered when she was shot. The signs would manifest as the final season progresses.
In an interview with TV Guide, showrunner Jan Nash said that Maura might have to go through a period of adjustment considering her head injury seemed to have affected her "giant brain."
"Maura's great gift is her giant brain. What does it mean to this character if in fact she can't use it fully? Is she defined by her ability to know everything? [She's] asking questions that we all ask ourselves," she told TV Guide. "We all make decisions in our lives. It's 'I made a choice at a moment in time for very good reasons, but is that choice still relevant to me?"
While Jane Rizzoli (Angie Harmon) was able to put an end to Alice Sands' (Annabeth Gish) wickedness at the end of the seventh season's second episode, it looks as if the upcoming episode will not bode well for her, as well.
Apparently, Jane and her team would be tasked to solve the murder of a zombie convention attendee. CarterMatt said Jane would have to go through various pieces of evidence to find out what the motive behind the murder was. Would Jane be facing a zombie in the process?
As for the rest of season 7, Jane and Maura's lives are expected to get even crazier as they try to solve the most complex crimes in this side of Boston. While there may or may not be a romance in the offing, viewers can expect the upcoming episodes to be filled with drama and comedy that have made the show such a hit.
Meanwhile, some guest stars slated to appear on "Rizzoli & Isles" season 7 include Colin Egglesfield (Tommy), Sharon Lawrence (Maura's mom Hope), JoBeth Williams, Sharon Gless, Kristoffer Polaha and Yvette Nicole Brown.
