Despite earlier reports that the game is currently going through a lot of difficulties with regard to its development, the people behind the franchise are confident that the next installment will be released anytime soon.

Although the company has yet to confirm the rumors, many fans believe that this coming E3 will be big for Capcom and the "Resident Evil" franchise.

Meanwhile, the last substantial report regarding the release of "Resident Evil 7" came from the video game producer Masachika Kawata.

During an interview with Siliconera last year, Kawata answered some questions related to the game's upcoming sequel. When asked why fans think that the recent "Resident Evil" has lost its horror appeal, he answered by stating that there is definitely more things to prepare for the upcoming "Resident Evil 7."

"Since there's been more spinoff titles, I can see how it can be perceived in such a way. And of course I believe that we should produce titles that bring out the horror. I'm thinking about it and also preparing for it."

When "Resident Evil 6" came out, many fans were disappointed citing that the game lost its roots. Critics were quick to give bad reviews as soon as the game hits the market. Both the media and the fans noticed that the game failed to highlight the horror genre that the series is known for. Many players also said that there is too much gun action that the developers were not able to emphasize the horror of the game.

Fans are hoping that "Resident Evil 7" will be a much improved episode.
