Followers of the game will be hyped to now that the upcoming installment of the Resident Evil series will bring the storyline back to its horror roots This might be a response to the fans who were disappointed with "Resident Evil 6," as it somehow fell flat for them. Reports say that the game "focused much on gunplay as opposed to increased tension and setting,"
aspects which originally made the game popular.

In a report by Siliconera, producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi was asked for a comment with regards to fans claiming that the game is moving far from its horror and survival elements. "Since there's been more spinoff titles, I can see how it can be perceived in such a way. And of course I believe that we should produce titles that bring out the horror. I'm thinking about it and also preparing for it," he said. When asked about details concerning "Resident Evil 7," the producer did not want to divulge too much information about the video game. "We're currently not at a state to talk about it... but please stay tuned," he replied.
