"Resident Evil 7: Biohazard" is one of the most anticipated video games to arrive next year, and a new update for the game's "Beginning Hour" demo has been released.

Known as "Midnight," the latest update was released over the weekend on PlayStation 4, with versions for PC and Xbox One coming later this month. According to Capcom's official blog site, the update will launch on Xbox One on Dec. 9, while PC players can use it starting on Dec. 19.

The company revealed that the update for PC will include "multitude of PC-specific settings and graphics options," but further details were not given. The demo's PS4 version includes an optional PlayStation VR mode, while the PS4 Pro version allows a 4K experience of the game for people who have a supported television.

Earlier this year, a "Twilight" update was released by Capcom for the Beginning Hour demo. Compared to the first update, the "Midnight" DLC pushes the boundaries even further, enabling players to explore more areas in the game.

During last week's PlayStation Experience 2016 event, a new demo for the game titled "Banned Footage DLC" was announced by Sony's Shelby Cook. She mentioned that this is the last demo for the game, adding that it is a "massive update." The trailer gives fans a glimpse of the horrors that await main character Ethan Winters, who ended up being in a spooky abandoned plantation while searching for his missing wife. It also tells the story of Ethan and how he was led to the frightening mansion.

Developed and published by Capcom, "Resident Evil 7: Biohazard" is a survival horror video game scheduled to be released on Jan. 24, 2017 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Microsoft Windows PC. That's just a few days before the upcoming movie titled "Resident Evil: The Final Chapter" officially hits the big screen on Jan. 27.
