'Resident Evil 2" remake release date and rumors: Game could be released along with 'Resident Evil 7'

The "Resident Evil" ("RE") franchise (or "Biohazard' to the Japanese audience) is one of the most popular brands when it comes to zombie shooter games, and a remake has been announced a while back for "Resident Evil 2." No news has been published by Capcom since then, but fans are speculating that the remake could be released at the same time as "Resident Evil 7."
Fans have been speculating wildly on Reddit about the release of the remake and some guessed that Capcom may be holding back the release in order for it to coincide with the 20th anniversary celebration of the game when it hits in January 2017 — that's also the same time fans are expecting the release of "Resident Evil 7."
Some fans, however, are a bit more optimistic. They expect the game to have a beta version released before 2016 ends. This gives the developers enough time to polish all of the bugs so the game will be released in its best condition come 2017.
In a video message, Capcom game producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi aka H said that it may take a while for the company to give any updates on the "RE 2" remake since the developers are hard at work with "RE 7." He also said that the updates will be coming from their official Facebook page, and fans can look forward to other titles in the "Resident Evil" franchise like the HD remaster of "RE Zero."
So far, no updates have been made on the remake project ever since it was announced back in 2015, but fans shouldn't let their hopes down. With a franchise as big as "Resident Evil," the developers must be working hard at delivering something that the fans will certainly love. Until Capcom releases official announcements, gamers should take these reports with a grain of salt.
