'Resident Evil 2' remake news 2016: Capcom hopeful that RE2 remake will give fans what they want
There are rumors that Capcom's classic "Resident Evil 2" will be having a remake to be released on latest generation game consoles with a target launching sometime this year. Capcom has kept mum amid the speculations being passed on by video game fans about the upcoming "Resident Evil" project. Capcom developer and producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi have revealed a few information about the on-going development of the highly anticipated RE offering of the year.

In an interview with Video Gamer, Hirabayashi revealed that he and his team are currently working very hard to create a great video game that is worth the long wait by the players. He also mentioned that he is aware of the fans' long-time request to the game developer company for the upcoming "Resident Evil" installments- that is, to bring back the elements of horror that have been missing in the recent three "Resident Evil" chapters.
As reported by the NSEAVOICE website, "Resident Evil" fans have been demanding Capcom to bring back the horror that was first seen in the first three "Resident Evil" video games. The recent "RE" games were successful in the digital markets, although the long-time "RE" fans are still wanting to experience the same horror that made them love the game series.
The same Video Gamer report cited Hirabayashi being confident that the "Resident Evil" game they are presently cooking up in their studio will "recapture" the horror of the first three original "Resident Evil" installments.
"As you mentioned, the first game's remake is held up as proof that a remaster can recapture the original game... I was able to learn from more experienced colleagues and see with my own eyes how they translated their efforts into such a masterpiece that built on an already well-received game. It was an incredibly valuable experience for me," Hirabayashi stated.
Another Capcom project is also reported to be under way alongside the "Resident Evil 2" remake, which is "Resident Evil 7" with an unconfirmed title. It is also unknown if the theme of the other "RE" project will involve the much-awaited horror or pick up the same elements of the most recent "RE" games.
