'Reign' season 4 news, spoilers: Premiere date official; new love for Mary

The fourth season of The CW's hit historical drama "Reign" finally has a premiere date.
According to reports, the series will be taking over the spot of musical dramedy "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" starting on Friday, February 10 at 9 p.m. ET following "The Vampire Diaries." This is good news for fans as the drama was initially believed to be shelved until summer 2017.
Season 3 left off with Mary (Adelaide Kane) being a victim of other characters' machinations. Although the Queen of Scots proved she's worthy of the crown, she appeared to be a bit naive. Plot details for season 4 remain under wraps, but there are speculations that Mary will turn into a stronger and more determined leader as the story moves forward. Additionally, the show is now predominantly set in Scotland, which means that viewers will soon see a lot of changes in the show. Aside from the cultural shift, Mary's return to Scotland will also mean a new husband by her side.
It can be recalled that Mary struggled to move on after the death of her great love, Francis (Toby Regbo), in season 2. The third installment saw her doing everything to protect her nation, but season 4 will be a bit different as she will meet two men who will try to win her heart.
Mary will cross paths with Lord Danley, a nobleman who also has a claim to the English throne. Similar to Francis, he has a mother who will stop at nothing to help her son claim his right to the throne. Mary's possible union with Lord Danley will make them more powerful as they could both bring an end to Elizabeth's (Rachel Skarsten) reign.
Bothwelll, on the other hand, is the other man Mary will meet. He is a kind-hearted bad boy who is head over heels with Mary. He is said to become Mary's third husband, while Danley will become her second.
