'Reign' season 3 spoilers, plot news: New French Court killer on the loose?
After three months of hiatus, "Reign" will be back this week to give viewers more meat to bite into. The last episode in January left viewers with Catherine de Medici (Megan Follows) after she ousted Narcisse (Craig Parker) from power, earning her the title of being the regent of France. Mary (Adelaide Kane) found love in the character of Gideon (Ben Geurens), who is also the Ambassador of England. On the other hand, things did not fare well for Elizabeth (Rachel Skarsten) as her child drank a cup of poisoned tea.

The midseason premiere will take place during Charles' (Spencer MacPherson) coronation. The promo clip features him and Mary talking, as she gives her a gift before he becomes crowned as King. Her present was a cloth Francis previously used to keep his hands from being slippery. She also gave Charles some helpful advice before he begins his reign. The identity of Elizabeth's prisoner will also be revealed, and Lola (Anna Popplewell) appeared to be shocked after finding out who the person is.
Based on the synopsis, a new killer lurks among the people in the French Court. Who could that person be? Besides the killer's identity, viewers are also curious of the reason behind the killings. This would be an interesting twist in the story as the previous alliances will be tested, and viewers get to see who will turn on each other.
According to the "Reign" spoiler website, the newest episode synopsis reads:
"MARY, ELIZABETH AND CATHERINE MUST DECIDE WHO THEY CAN TRUST — Mary must find a powerful suitor to align herself with as Charles' impending Coronation looms. Lola stumbles upon the identity of Elizabeth's poisoner, while Catherine becomes a new kind of victim for the castle's serial killer."
Stay tuned for new episodes of "Reign" starting April 25, 7 p.m. on The CW. The promo for episode 11 titled "Succession" can be viewed here.
