'Reign' season 3 finale spoilers: Mary defends her reign as the Queen of Scotland; battle between Mary, Elizabeth ensues

The CW's most-watched historical drama "Reign" is well on its way to its season 3 finale, and viewers will see if Mary will emerge victorious after all is said and done. The previous episodes saw Mary's journey back to her home in Scotland, and all the difficulties she went through to reclaim her throne.
To give fans an idea of how the finale plays out, the official synopsis for next week's episode titled "Spiders in a Jar" reads:
"Mary (Adelaide Kane) makes a bold move to defend her reign in Scotland, which results in a battle royale with her cousin, Elizabeth (Rachel Skarsten). Lola (Anna Popplewell) is accused of a heinous crime and suffers the drastic consequences. Meanwhile, back in France, Catherine (Megan Follows) finds that Charles (guest star Spencer MacPherson) has returned a changed man after paying a price for his mother's relentless quest for power."
Elizabeth assumed that Mary died after a huge storm hit while she was on her way back to Scotland, so Elizabeth plots with Lola to steal the crown as the Queen of Scots. This might lead to the huge war between the two rivals. As seen in the promo clip, Mary delivers an emotionally charged speech in front of her army.
Moving forward, the show will see Mary continue her reign as the Queen of Scotsas the network already confirmed a season 4 underway. She will have a lot of suitors vying for her heart, and viewers might even see her get married next season. There will definitely be a lot of new faces on board, but unfortunately for fans, Bash will be out of the picture. The character's portrayer Torrance Coombs recently left the series for another period drama from Shonda Rhimes titled "Still Star-Crossed." However, the actor remains open to the possibility of coming back sometime in the future if he was given the opportunity.
