Despite the eagerness of the fans for the second installment, no official details have yet to be announced by the Rockstar Games or the mother company Take-Two Interactive. However, fans are keeping it positive with high hopes that the next title will finally get released before the year ends.

It has been reported, however, that the silence of the people behind the franchise could also mean that no announcement will be made at the E3. Despite contradicting reports, players and critics have continued to spark new rumors about the second installment. According to the new rumors, "Red Dead Redemption: Legends of the West" will be a prequel to the original title. The rumor started when Reddit user AnonDN1978 revealed the title of the upcoming game.

Meanwhile, in his recent interview with VG247, Rockstar Games CEO Strauss Zelnick told the publication that the company has considered "Red Dead Redemption" as a permanent franchise.

"I pretty much know the ones that I can assure you are permanent," Strauss said. "It's obvious that 'GTA' is a permanent franchise as long as we keep delivering this incredible quality; it seems quite obvious that 'Red Dead' is a permanent franchise, again with the same caveat, or 'Borderlands,' for example, and 'NBA' and others."

For now, fans are still looking for some clarity with regard to the upcoming sequel of "Red Dead Redemption." They are hoping that the company will finally speak up as to when will the new game be released.
