Many fans of "Red Dead Redemption" are already losing hope of a sequel. The open world, western action-adventure video game was released six years ago and despite its success, game publisher Rockstar Games has continued to stay mum about a possible second installment. However, new rumors have emerged suggesting that the company might provide significant details about the upcoming game title at the Electronic Entertainment Expo or E3 2016, which is scheduled to start on June 14.

In addition to that, an apparent leaked image has surfaced suggesting that the game will be revealed anytime soon. According to a report by The Express, An appearance by "Red Dead Redemption 2" at E3 is highly possible.

Nonetheless, the scarcity of reports with regard to the sequel has been one of the reasons why fans have lost their interest towards the game's second installment. The last significant rumor was the supposed map of the game that was leaked online but since then, fans have been left hanging wondering if the game will ever come out.

There were also reports suggesting that the upcoming "Red Dead Redemption 2" will be a prequel of the original installment. However, the reports were not confirmed by Rockstar Games and its parent company, Take-Two Interactive.

Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick previously hinted the possibility of a second installment during an interview with Gamespot.

"I pretty much know the ones that I can assure you are permanent," Zelnick said. "It's obvious that GTA is a permanent franchise as long as we keep delivering this incredible quality; it seems quite obvious that Red Dead is a permanent franchise, again with the same caveat, or Borderlands, for example, and NBA and others."

Nonetheless, until the company decides to release an official statement with regard to its development, all reports about "Red Dead Redemption 2" must be taken with a grain of salt.
