Real Housewives of Atlanta News, Cast Rumors: Porsha Williams Fired as FT Cast Member; Claudia Jordan and Demetria McKinney Join

null

On Real Housewives of Atlanta, things just got very real as Porsha Williams was axed as a full time participant on the reality show, and has been demoted to be just a "recurring" cast member.

Hot on the heels of that news, is the news that two new housewives have been added to the lineup. Claudia Jordan is the new series regular, while Demetria McKinney will be signing on as a recurring cast member.

The focus is currently on the shock announcement of Porsha Williams being shifted from series regular to "recurring cast".

As Williams told PEOPLE, "The demotion blindsided her as she was felt she was only being herself on the show, and she was genuine and honest."

Catfights got Williams in trouble during the reunion taping of the show, and that appears to have been influential in her demotion.

The incident was a fight with Kenya Moore, and resulted in her being slapped with a battery charge. In the current season, TMZ reports Williams vented her ire against brand new housewife Jordan, and that is what finally caused producers to literally shrink her role.

Whether or not the new "friend" status of Williams will cause more fights between her and the other housewives is something we are going to have to find out in the current season.

As for the rest of the cast, TMZ reports that producers were initially planning to sign McKinney on as a full time housewife and bring Jordan on as a friend. This plan was shelved when Jordan's debut on the show got a ton of positive responses from viewers.

Producers then brought in Claudia Jordan as a full time housewife and Demetria McKinney as a recurring cast member. Jordan comes to the show from Los Angeles and currently is one of the hosts on the Rickey Smiley Morning Show.
