R&B artist Ciara has said that she is teaching her son the importance of thanking Jesus as he learns to talk.

Ciara, who is dating well-known NFL quarterback Russell Wilson, recently told People magazine that her son will parrot her when she says "Thank you Jesus."

"The other day we were saying, 'Thank you, Jesus' and I would say, 'Say, thank you!' And he would say, 'Tank you!' I'd say, 'Je-sus' and he'd say, 'Yee-yus,'" the singer gushed about her young son. "It is so sweet!"

"He's like a parrot now, he's in the parrot stage so he [copies] everything you say — which you have to be careful with," Ciara added.

Ciara has previously been outspoken about her Christian faith, with her and Wilson, the quarterback for the Seattle Seahawks, both telling media outlets that they have chosen to remain abstinent until marriage.

The R&B artist previously told Hollywood Access Live that she and her athletic boyfriend are remaining abstinent until "the deal is sealed [absolutely]."

"I think both of us look at each other and we're like – whew! But we take it one day at a time and keep it going with each other, and I'm really enjoying every day that we're sharing," Ciara added.

Wilson has also recalled the moment he and Ciara decided to be celibate.

"I told her right then and there. What would you do if we took all that extra stuff off the table and just do it Jesus' way [...] because if you can really love somebody without that, then you can really love somebody,'" Wilson told The Rock Church in a previous interview.
