Razer Blade 2016 release date, specs, price and updates: Laptop lighter, faster, cheaper than previous units?

A new and improved Razer Blade 2016 gaming laptop has been released during the Gaming Developer Conference (GDC) in San Francisco.
One unique feature gaming fans will love is that Blade will be compatible with the Razer Core external graphics enclosure. A Thunderbolt 3-powered enclosure, the Razer Core makes using desktop-class graphics card from AMD or Nvidia possible for the Blade laptop. According to Forbes, it's essentially recommended for people who don't want the hassle of having a separate PC/tower for gaming at home. To boot, the Razer Core ultimately helps the consumers save their money as it enables a future-proof unit, meaning they won't need to worry about the laptop's GPU becoming outdated.
The Razer Blade runs on Windows 10 (64-Bit), plus an Intel Core i7-6700HQ quad-core processor with hyper-threading 2.6GHz or 3.5GHz (base/turbo). Sporting a multi-point touchscreen interface, the Razer Blade also has a 2 MP built-in webcam and a Chroma backlit anti-ghosting. It supports USB Type-C Thunderbolt 3 connectivity together with Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v4.1, and Micro-USB. The ultralight gaming laptop's 14-inch display boasts of a crisp 3,200x1,800 pixels, with LED backlight, plus a built-in 70Wh rechargeable lithium-ion polymer battery to keep the lights on. Most importantly, the 4.25-pound gaming laptop is armed with an Nvidia GeForce GTX 970M (6GB GDDR5 VRAM, Optimus technology) GPU.
Razer's latest addition to the Blade series comes in two variants: a 256 GB storage model priced at $1,999 and a 512 GB storage model which is valued at $2,199. Compared to the previous Blade's $2,400-initial price, the current Blade's price is lower. In a statement by Razer CEO Min-Liang Tan, he explained, "We are getting much more aggressive as far as price point, but that hasn't come at a cost to the performance or design of the Razer Blade."
Since the 12.5-inch Razer Blade Stealth's release earlier this year, gaming fans will be pleased to know that a lighter, faster and cheaper Razer Blade is now available for pre-order. Shipping will begin as early as next month.
