Ray Comfort: People won't go to hell for having not heard of Jesus

People will not go to Hell specifically because they have never heard of Jesus and the Gospel, according to evangelist Ray Comfort.

In a Facebook post, Comfort gave his two cents on the question "What happens to those who never get a chance to hear the Gospel and die before they do get a chance?"

Comfort stated that nobody will enter the gates of Hell just because they don't know Jesus. Rather, it is the commitment of sins that will cause them to. "They will be condemned for murder, rape, adultery, fornication, lying, stealing, etc.," the evangelist wrote.

The founder of Living Waters ministries called on those who "really care about the lost" to "get right with God and become a missionary."

An author and filmmaker, atheism is prominently featured in Comfort's projects and programs. He had planned to give away, along with more than 1,000 Christian volunteers, almost $25,000 worth of Subway gift cards, as well as 5,000 copies of his book "Why Pigs Will Fly Before America Has an Atheist President," at last year's Reason Rally, which was held on June 4, 2016.

Local authorities intervened, however, reasoning out that the move would constitute a protest and would require a permit. They threatened to arrest Comfort's group if Comfort and the volunteers approach the atheists at the rally.

In a press release, Comfort stated that he understood that the policemen viewed Christians and atheists as enemies and that they were simply trying to avoid potential clashes, but he added, "At the same time I'm a little frustrated because I have a very good relationship with atheists."

More recently, Comfort's documentary titled "The Atheist Delusion," in which he engages in conversations with Atheists on both sides' beliefs, received a nomination at the Raw Science Film Festival. Comfort said in a statement about the nomination, "To be recognized for our scientific approach and proofs of what is normally dismissed as simple religion is humbling. In the argument of religion versus science, we hope to show people that it's not either/or, but that science supports the existence of the Creator, and our creator is the very author of science."
