Quentin Tarantino Retiring? Hollywood Director Plans to Retire After 10th Movie
Quentin Tarantino is planning on retiring after making his 10th film. Currently he is working on his eighth film which incidentally is titled "The Hateful Eight."
Tarantino announced his retirement plans while speaking to an audience at the American Film Market conference held in Santa Monica, California, recently. He was at the conference to attract more foreign buyers for "The Hateful Eight." Deadline notes that Tarantino succeeded in his mission.

Tarantino told the audience about his plans for his new movie, including the use of 70mm camera to give viewers a true theater-going experience. He said this is something that cannot be experienced when watching movies "on a iPhone or iPad."
Also at the event were several members of the cast of "The Hateful Eight" including Jennifer Jason Leigh, Walton Goggins, Kurt Russell and Samuel L. Jackson. As Tarantino spoke about his retirement plans, he noted that he "doesn't believe you should stay onstage until people are begging you to get off."
Directing, according to Tarantino, is a young man's endeavor and that he plans to give it up to concentrate on creating plays and books and then go "gracefully into his tender years."
Leigh commented that she was unluckily joining Tarantino's films as he was winding up his career. But Russell and Jackson quickly interrupted her, saying that Tarantino wasn't serious about retirement. Jackson asked, "What's he going to do with himself if he's not doing this?"
Tarantino then provided more details about his retirement plans, emphasizing that he was serious and wanted to create a good 10th film. Once that was done he planned to stop and that way "leave the audience wanting more."
However, he noted that "nothing was etched in stone" and he "would still do a good movie if he came across one after retiring."
