'Quantico' season 2 spoilers: CIA recruits begin training at The Farm; new secrets to be revealed
The new CIA recruits will begin their extensive training at The Farm in the upcoming second episode of ABC's hit action drama "Quantico" season 2.
Titled "Lipstick," the next episode will see all the new CIA recruits begin executing counter-surveillance exercises at The Farm as part of their training. Meanwhile, Alex (Priyanka Chopra) and Ryan (Jake McLaughlin) will also start to navigate their new relationship with each other. In the future, Ryan and Raina (Yasmine Al Massri) team up in an attempt to disrupt the terrorists' plan to blend in with hostages. They soon realize that trust becomes a deadly weapon, and it will later be revealed that not everyone is who they seem to be.
Last Sunday's premiere "Kudove" had everyone talking when the high-stakes hour featured its most shocking moment yet with a death scene rarely seen on TV. During the final moments of episode 1, the series pulled out all the stops when first lady of the United States was beheaded by an unknown terrorist. Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, showrunner Josh Safran said what viewers saw was not just a gimmick and the first lady is indeed dead in the story.
According to Safran, the creators want to be as close to reality as possible, particularly on the topic of terrorism and its effect on everyone."Today's terrorism is meant to be destructive first and foremost. It's meant to make you unsettled, it's meant to make you feel unsafe," he explained. "It's meant to attack things that you thought were un-attackable. We felt like, if we weren't going to tell a story that felt like stories in the world, then why are we doing this show? So we decided to not pull the punches and actually tell the story that would happen if this were really happening."
In the same interview, Chopra said the violent attack will only make Alex become stronger and more determined to do her mission. "She's going to be a one-man army for a really long time, because such a violent attack has happened and she's the only one on the outside," the actress added.
The second season of "Quantico" airs every Sunday night at 10 p.m. EST on ABC.
