Prominent Pastor Myles Munroe Dies In Plane Crash In Bahamas

A prominent pastor known for his preaching and business coaching passed away, along with his wife, in a plane crash on Sunday afternoon in the Bahamas.
Dr. Myles Munroe of Bahamas Faith Ministries International and his wife Ruth Ann Munroe passed away Sunday after their Lear 36 executive jet, travelling from Nassau to Freeport, crashed upon hitting a crane in the Grand Bahama Ship Yard during their decent into the Grand Bahama International Airport.
All nine people aboard the jet were killed, although the identities of the other seven passengers are yet to be released. Local officials are reportedly looking into what caused the crash, although some have suggested that heavy rains caused low visibility upon approach to the airport.
Dr. Munroe and his wife were co-pastors of Bahama Faith Ministries International, and Munroe became an international icon for his preaching style, business coaching, and authorship of several books.
Andrew Young, a former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations who was a close friend of the Munroe's, released a statement following the couple's passing.
"Ambassador Young expresses his deep sadness over the tragic death of his friends Dr. Myles and Mrs. Ruth Munroe. He offers condolences to the Munroe family and the families of the other souls who lost their lives as a result of this shocking plane crash," the Andrew Young Foundation said in a statement, as reported by CNN.
William M. Wilson, the president of Oral Roberts University, where Munroe was a student, released a statement regarding the pastor's death.
"His energy and enthusiasm for imparting Spirit Empowered Christianity to new generations was contagious," Wilson said in the statement.
