'Prison Break' season 5 news, spoilers: Dominic Purcell says he thought he was going to die after set accident

"Prison Break" star Dominic Purcell has detailed the set injury that cracked his skull open and broke his nose, saying that he thought he was going to die.
On Saturday, June 11, the actor made his first public appearance since suffering serious injuries from an on-set accident in Ouarzazate, Morocco, where the "Prison Break" revival event is being filmed.
The accident, which resulted in a broken nose and a head injury, occurred on May 30, when an iron bar from the set was dislodged and hit Purcell's head. According to Deadline, on Saturday, the actor sported two deep wounds on his head, the larger of which reportedly needed 150 stitches.
Apart from the stitches on his head, Purcell also received 20 stitches on his left elbow, stitches near his left eyebrow, stitches for his broken nose, and various minor cuts on his arms. Nevertheless, the actor is reportedly on the mend and said that he is set to resume filming the "Prison Break" limited event this week.
Speaking with Deadline during a party for the Australian luxury watch brand Bausele, Purcell talked about fearing for his life after the accident.
"I'm not being hyperbolic when I say this — I expected that I was either going to black out or die, because in my brain, when [his stunt guy] said my skull was showing, I just assumed that my skull was cracked, and blood was going to go into my brain, and I was going to f—g die in Morocco," he recounted. "I thought I was going to die..."
The actor also talked about the desperate search for medical help in a remote area of Morocco and being flown to Casablanca, where he was finally tended to by an expert plastic surgeon.
In the interview, Purcell revealed that his injuries will be incorporated into an episode or two of the upcoming "Prison Break" season 5/revival.
As he recovers from his injuries, the actor has had a sense of humor about the whole ordeal and kept his fans updated via social media, posting various shots of his injured face and assuring everyone that he is doing well.
The "Prison Break" revival heads to Fox in the spring of 2017.
