'Prison Break' season 5 news, release date: Wentworth Miller shares details about fifth season

Fans of FOX's serial drama "Prison Break" have most likely heard about the show's reboot. A nine-episode fifth season will be making its way to the small screen next year.
For the uninitiated, "Prison Break" first aired in 2005 but was ceased in 2009. Fans of the show can expect Wentworth Miller to reprise his role as Michael Scofield and Dominic Purcell to return as his brother Lincoln Burrows.
Digital Spy caught Miller at the 2016 Attitude Awards on Monday, Oct. 10, and managed to get him to share a few important details about the upcoming season.
Miller told the publication that "Prison Break" season 5 will be having 9 episodes. But the show's fate will depend on how it will be received by its viewers.
"I can tell you it's seven years later, and you can expect a lot more of the same things that you loved first time around. And it will also be quite different as the characters have changed, so my character in particular is no longer just a hero - he's a few other things as well. I think the fans will get a kick out of it," Miller told the news outlet.
Miller admitted that they felt responsible for the show and how it will be presented to the fans. He said that if they were going to do another season, they have to do it the right way.
A few months ago, Purcell got into an accident while filming for the FOX drama. He had 20 stitches on his left elbow, stitches for his broken nose, and more stitches on his left eyebrow.
The actor told Deadline that this particular moment had him shocked. Purcell, however, didn't reveal the details of the scene they were shooting, as it would reveal the plot of the upcoming season.
The fifth season of "Prison Break" is expected to return on FOX in spring 2017.
