'Prison Break' revival news: extended trailer sheds new light on Michael's road out of his own prison cell

Fox has released a new story trailer for the revival of "Prison Break" which brings in a bit more light on the premise of the show once it comes back in a few months' time.
The extended teaser shows what life was for the people who love Michael (Wentworth Miller) years after he was presumed dead by the end of season 4. Then one intel about him potentially still being alive spins the whole thing into a fast-paced, action-packed breaking-out mission that Lincoln (Dominic Purcell) takes on for his brother.
In light with its nearing comeback, Miller, alongside co-lead Purcell, sat down at the Television Critics Association winter press tour in Pasadena. The two talked about not just what will potentially come in the new installment of the show but as well as how the idea of a revival came out to be. As it turns out, the duo has started sitting at the thought when they were both cast as villains in The CW superhero show "Legends of Tomorrow."
"That is where Dom and I had our reunion," Miller recalled. "Suddenly we were back on set, discussing old times. And out of that conversation came the possibility of revisiting 'Prison Break.'"
After some conceptualization, the actors met up with "Prison Break" creator Paul T. Scheuring and, coincidentally, a fan spotted Miller about "the guy from 'Prison Break'" following their casual meeting.
"That's the kind of hunger that there is internationally for this show," Scheuring said explaining how the idea was eventually sold to him.
And it seems like the decision to bring back the series is the right decision as the show has gotten a lot of interest even before season 5 debuts. The newly released clip in itself has notched a new breaking record being Fox's fastest-growing trailer in 24 hours garnering 42 million views across social media including Facebook, YouTube and Twitter, Deadline reports.
The new season, which was supposed to have ten episodes, unfortunately was cut to just nine because of time constraints. In spite of this, there is no cause of concern about the narrative being rushed as the creators were able to craft it in such a way that the ending will be fitted for the story.
"We had 15 weeks, 16 weeks to shoot the whole thing," Scheuring said. "At the end of the day, we just didn't have enough time for 10 hours. So we conflated two of those episodes into one," he went on to explain.
"Prison Break" revival is scheduled to debut on April 4 and will continue to air every Tuesday, 9 p.m. ET on Fox.
