The Duke of Cambridge Prince William took a tour of the White House on Monday as part of his visit to the U.S. with wife Kate Middleton.

William reportedly arrived in D.C. from New York relatively unannounced, entering the White House through a side street. The royal then reportedly received a tour of the White House before meeting Vice President Joe Biden, Biden's wife, and President Barack Obama.

Although the meeting between the royal and the president was closed to the public, footage released after the interaction shows William discussing the birth of his son, George, last summer, as well as the birth of their next child next year.

"I remember when George was born, I forgot to work out whether it was a boy or a girl," William can be heard telling the president during their sit-down meeting. "The excitement of the event and everything else was just chaos. You are suddenly […] well actually it's a boy. So now, it's good. It's going to be interesting next year. A busy year next year."

The White House also said in a statement that the president thanks William "for the hospitality shown to him by the Royal Family during the President's recent visits to the United Kingdom. This visit underscores the special relationship between the United States and the United Kingdom."

Meanwhile, New York City has given William's wife, Kate Middleton, a warm welcome, with fans lining some of the city's major streets to catch a glimpse of the royal.

"I gave her flowers — it was amazing," one adoring fan, 6-year-old Mila, told the New York Post after seeing the Duchess of Cambridge leave the Northside Center for Child Development in the city.
