'Pretty Little Liars' season 7B news update: Last season currently in the works

The seventh and final season of Freeform's "Pretty Little Liars" is currently on a midseason break but production for the second half of the season is currently in the works.
"Pretty Little Liars" creator Marlene King recently revealed the information on Twitter. King tweeted, "Reflecting on where we have been, where we are now, and what is to come. #SeavenSeasons later #PLLSeriesFinale (sic)."
Along with her tweet, King posted a selfie of her on the set of the show. The cast of the show gathered on Tuesday, Sept. 20, to film the series finale.
Fans can expect the main cast — Troian Bellisario as Spencer Hastings, Ashley Benson as Hanna Marin, Lucy Hale as Aria Montgomery, and Sasha Pieterse as Alison DiLaurentis — to reprise their roles for the final season of the show.
There are only a few episodes left yet the show still has so many unresolved mysteries. Sources said that the upcoming season will reveal Archer Dunhill's true identity. Many believe that A.D is actually Lucas, seeking revenge on Ali. In the previous seasons of the show, Lucas can be heard saying, "One day she'll get what's coming to her."
In a previous interview with US Magazine, King shared that the second half will pick up shortly after the end of the first half. "So, Ali will not be super pregnant, she'll just be a little more pregnant than she was last night," King admitted.
Fans of the show shouldn't be too sad. The showrunner said they are keeping their options open. One day, "Pretty Little Liars" might hit the big screen. Although King confessed it was a possibility, the finale will definitely wrap things up for the entire show. "The last episode is really going to be treated like a two-hour movie," King revealed.
"Pretty Little Liars" season 7B is expected to premiere in April 2017.
