'Pretty Little Liars' finale news: 'PLL' stars write emotional goodbyes to fans

The main cast of "Pretty Little Liars" ("PLL") along with showrunner I. Marlene King announced through Facebook Live that Freeform's hit mystery-thriller show is ending after season 7. Shortly after, the "PLL" girls bid fans goodbye on their respective Instagram accounts.
Shay Mitchell, who portrays Emily Fields in the show, shared a photo of herself with the girls and King. The actress said it was a bittersweet day for the cast and crew of "PLL" because they just confirmed the end of the series. She wrote, "And while I save my long drawn out speech about how nothing in my life will ever compare to what this show did for me, I will leave you with this (for now ;). A photo of me and the five women who helped shaped my 20s."
Lucy Hale, who plays Aria Montgomery, revealed in a post that she has been reflecting on the past seven years of starring in the show. The actress did not forget to thank their fans. In addition, she teased that April 2017, the launch date for the second half of the final season, will be worth the wait.
On the other hand, Troian Bellisario, who portrays Spencer Hastings, admitted that the cast and crew have known about it for a long time but when they were actually saying goodbye, the actress said it felt "strange" for her.
Although Bellisario already bade her fans goodbye, she revealed that the "PLL" team has so much left to do before they deliver the season finale.
In an interview with Variety, Freeform Executive Vice President of Programming and Development Karey Burke teased that the "PLL" finale will be "mind-blowing" and "provocative." Moreover, the final episode will be "unexpected, and completely and totally satisfying."
The "PLL" midseason finale aired last Tuesday, Aug. 30. The other half of season seven will be back on Freeform in April 2017 for its final run.
