'Powerless' season premiere spoilers: Main cast members reveal new villain's identity, pilot episode to be aired in upcoming San Diego Comic-Con

NBC's upcoming situational comedy series set in the DC universe, "Powerless" will hit the small screen next year, and fans will soon see a new comic book villain to be introduced in the series. To give readers an idea of what the new show is all about, the synopsis for the first season reads:

"Powerless is the story of Emily (Vanessa Hudgens â€“ High School Musical), a young insurance adjuster specializing in regular-people coverage against damage caused when Super Heroes and Super Villains treat the city like their own personal battleground. Taking care of insurance needs one by one, Emily and her team of co-workers might not have any superpowers, but they are out to make a difference in people's lives and prove that you don't need to have powers to be powerful!"

Acting alongside lead actress Hudgens is "Community" star Danny Pudi and "Firefly" alum Alan Tudyk. Pudi will portray the role of Teddy, Emily's closest friend at work, trusted confidante and someone who likes to pull pranks while in the office. Tudyk is Emily's "power-mad disastrous dictator" boss named Del, who is also the son of the company owner.

The three above-mentioned main characters will join executive producer Ben Queen and executive producer/director Michael Patrick Jann for a Q & A panel in the upcoming Comic-Con: International event to be held in San Diego this year. Aside from new details shared by the cast and crew, the pilot episode will also be shown to the audience. The "Powerless" pilot screening and Q & A is scheduled for July 22 at 2:30 to 3:00 p.m. US time.

In an interview with DC All Access, the cast members mentioned that Jack O' Lantern will be the first DC villain to make an appearance in the show opposite Crimson Fox. When asked what makes them excited about the show, Tudyk mentioned that he looks forward to how the real-life office setting will be juxtaposed against the superhero characters.

Catch the season premiere of "Powerless" which will arrive sometime in midseason 2017.
