'Power' season 4 spoilers: Kanan and Ghost to have another showdown; EP shares hints on Sung Kang's role

After an explosive season 3 finale, "Power" will continue next year for its fourth season featuring what's next for James "Ghost" St. Patrick (Omari Hardwick) following his shocking arrest in his own night club.

Season 3 wrapped up last Sunday with a piteous death, betrayal, revelations and Ghost being arrested by his ex-girlfriend, federal prosecutor Angela Valdez (Lela Loren) in his club. In a recent sit-down interview with Deadline, executive producer Courtney Kemp revealed some interesting spoilers for the upcoming installment.

According to Kemp, season 4 will explore Angela's arc as she tries to become a decent prosecutor again. After being involved in her ex-boyfriend's business, Angela will start anew in her career. "She's wrong right now, but she's in the place of righteousness," Kemp said, describing Loren's character.

Meanwhile, Tasha (Naturi Naughton) will begin to "re-evaluate what it means to take care of her family" after what happened to her ex-husband Ghost. At some point in the story, Dre (Rotimi) will become very ambitious, leading Kemp to give him the nickname "Baby Ghost." Ghost's arrest will give Dre a chance to grow, not only in the clubs but also in the drug ring.

It was announced last week that "Fast and Furious" star Sung Kang will be joining the fourth season. Details on his character are still under wraps, but Kemp mentioned that he will appear in the season 4 premiere. "Let's just say he's a very influential character who comes into Angela's life," the EP teased.

As for Kanan (50 Cent) and Ghost's rivalry, Kemp said the duo's rift is far from over. Speaking with Hollywood Life, she hinted that Ghost will find out about Kanan's return. She also revealed that the writers have "something planned" about another showdown between the two characters.

The fourth season of "Power" premieres on 2017 on Starz.
