Police: 3 Shot At UPS Facility In Alabama

A shooting at a UPS store in Birmingham, Alabama has left three dead Tuesday morning, including the shooter, police report.
The shooter, described by police as an adult white male, reportedly entered the warehouse attached to the UPS facility in Birmingham at around 9:30 a.m. and shot two adult white males before turning the gun on himself. The suspect was reportedly dressed in a UPS uniform and Birmingham Police Chief A.C. Roper told media outlets that he has been notified of a report that the suspect had been fired from his UPS job yesterday.
Roper said that officials are still searching for a motive in Tuesday morning's incident. "We have no information regarding the motivation," Roper told Al.com. "We have a pretty good idea about what transpired."
"It is extremely troubling for the city, for the families involved. When they came to work today they had no idea it would be their last day alive on earth," Roper added. "They were just people working at their jobs."
The Atlanta-based UPS company released a brief statement confirming that there had been a shooting at one of its Alabama facilities on Tuesday and that it was fully cooperating with an investigation into the incident.
Employees at the warehouse were reportedly being transported to a nearby auditorium so they may speak to counselors. Schools surrounding the area also went on a temporary lockdown after the shooting because one of the children at the schools was related to one of the people involved in the shooting, and the lockdown was put in place just in case the shooter remained at large.
