'Pokken Tournament' news, updates: Croagunk unveiled as newest fighter; character to be playable starting Nov. 10

Banda Namco has recently announced the newest playable character for "Pokken Tournament."
Croagunk, also known as Gureggru in the original Japanese title, will be the latest fighter to join the much-hyped game. During a livestream via NicoNico, the trailer announcing Croagunk's arrival was officially unveiled. After being previously known as a Support Pokemon, Croagunk now joins the ranks of fighters once the arcade version updates its system later this week.
According to reports, Croagunk is a Speed Type character that uses numerous projectiles, including Rock Throw and Poison Jabs. Although a fighter Croagunk will be introduced, players can still use the Croagunk Support Pokemon. It is also possible for one Croagunk to be supported by another Croagunk. Many users never saw Croagunk as a competent fighter, but the latest trailer proves that there's a lot more fight in the character than fans may have initially expected.
Similar to the previously announced characters Darkrai and Scizor, Croagunk will not be a part of the game's Wii U version at this point in time. Instead, it will be heading to the arcade machines in Japan. As Game Rant points out, the decision to keep downloadable combat characters off of the home console version of "Pokken Tournament" seems to be an unexpected move in the eyes of many fans since the game was actually a big hit.
Unfortunately, Bandai Namco has yet to announce when players outside of Japan can get their hands on Croagunk. While waiting for updates, hopeful trainers still have "Pokemon Sun" and "Pokemon Moon" to anticipate later this month.
Croagunk will join the roster of playable characters in the arcade version of "Pokken Tournament" starting on Thursday, Nov. 10. The game is also currently available for the Nintendo Wii U, but no DLC has been confirmed for the platform yet.
