'Pokemon Sun and Moon' update: Not all Pokemon will have Alola forms

Although millions of mobile users are hooked on Niantic's recent app "Pokemon Go," gamers can't help but be excited for the upcoming role-playing game "Pokemon Sun and Moon."
Although "Pokemon Go" just launched on smartphones, it has been awhile since the Nintendo 3DS consoles have seen a proper Pokemon update. It has been nearly three years since October 2013, when "Pokemon X and Y" was released for the Nintendo 3DS.
Players need to wait a few more months for the new game. Nevertheless, the relatively long wait will be worth it once it launches.
In "Pokemon Sun and Moon," players will have to choose from the following starter Pokemon: the water-type Poppolio, the grass/fire-type Rowlet, and the fire-type Litten.
"Pokemon Sun and Moon" will take place in an archipelago of tropical islands called Alola. The region consists of four natural islands and one man-made island. In these islands, various Pokemon have evolved into Alola forms, which are new evolutionary forms that suit the islands' particular microclimates.
Lapras, Arcanine and Psyduck will be present in the upcoming game but will not have Alola forms. Previously, the Japanese website for "Pokemon Sun and Moon" added Pinsir, Spearow, Gyarados, Zubat and Dragonite to the list. However, they will not have Alola forms as well.
These eight Pokemon have yet to be added to the United States' website for the video game. Hence, it is not yet certain if they will also appear in the U.S version of the game.
So far, around 60 Pokemon have been confirmed to appear. Moreover, The Pokemon Company is expected to add more first-generation pocket monsters in the game.
"Pokemon Sun" and "Pokemon Moon" are expected to launch in Japan and the U.S. on Friday, Nov. 18.
