'Pokemon Sun and Moon' release date news: New Ultra Beasts to be introduced; first footage from anime revealed

Two months before "Pokemon Sun and Moon" officially hits the shelves, game developer The Pokemon Company recently announced that each game will have more Ultra Beasts.

In addition to the previously announced UB-01, the Pokémon Company has announced the second Ultra Beast which will be a part of the game. Named UB-02, the latest addition is actually two different beasts which differ for the two games.

The Pokemon Sun version of the said Ultra Beast is called UB-02 Absorption, which appears to have brute strength since it is covered in muscles. The verison in Pokémon Moon, however, is named UB-02 Beauty, which has a special power of hypnotizing other Pokémon creatures, making them infatuated with it regardless of gender.

According to the latest report, the developer announced the Ultra Beasts through a gameplay trailer launched a week ago. Aside from the Ultra Beasts, The "Pokemon Sun and Moon" clip also introduced a new Pokemon Type—the Alolan form of Raticate, along with Jangmo-o and Null.

Meanwhile, the first footage for the upcoming "Pokémon Sun and Moon" anime has been released, and fans were quick to notice that Ash appears a bit different from how he looks in the previous Pokémon franchises. Similar to the game counterpart, the anime is set on the Alola region where Ash goes to school with plans to graduate. While spending his time there as a student, Ash will encounter a variety of unique Pokémon as well as Alolan variants of pre-existing Pokémon. It also seems that the anime will feature some Z-Moves which will be present in the game.

As reports point out, the most obvious shift in the anime is the seemingly new appearances of Ash and the rest of the characters. It is unclear if this is an effect of Alola, but it's more likely that there was a shift in basic art style.

Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon will be officially launched in North America and Japan on Nov. 18. Both games will be released in Europe just a few days later on Nov. 23.
