'Pokemon Sun and Moon' news: Upcoming game features Mega Evolutions

"Pokemon Go" is not losing its popularity anytime soon. Nevertheless, the latest installment to the Pokemon franchise, "Pokemon Sun and Moon," will soon be available exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS. The developers have been releasing teasers for the upcoming game. Recently, a spread from a Japanese magazine revealed that the game will include Mega Evolutions.
Twitter user PokéLoot posted photos of the Japanese magazine pages. The user also translated a few important details about the article and said, "Japanese magazine states Jangmo-o's Soundproof ability blocks Mega Gardevoirs's Hyper Voice thus confirming Mega Evolution is in Sun & Moon."
Other sources have corroborated the recent speculations. The Japanese magazine reportedly name-dropped Mega Sanaiio, which is the Japanese name of Mega Gardevoir. This is the mega evolution of the third generation Pokemon, Gardevoir. It is the final evolved form of Ralts.
For the uninitiated, Mega Evolutions were introduced in "Pokemon X and Y." Players can find mega stones and use them to evolve their Pokemon beyond the usual limit of evolutions. Pokemon which will evolve to this final state will have altered abilities and types.
The developers will launch a "Pokemon Sun and Moon" limited edition steelbook pack. The bundle will consist of the Sun and Moon versions of the game as well as a steelbook casing for both variants. The legendary sun Pokemon Solgaeo will be featured on one side of the cover while the legendary moon Pokemon Lunala will be on the opposite side. Inside the steelbook, viewers will see a map of the Alola region. The bundle is sold exclusively on Amazon for $89.99.
"Pokemon Sun and Moon" will be available in Japan, Australia, the United States, Canada and more starting Nov. 18. Gamers from the United Kingdom will have to wait for the game for a little longer as it is slated to launch in Europe on Nov. 23.
