'Pokemon GO' updates, rumors: gameplay footage leaked

There is still no confirmed date for the release of the made-for-phone augmented reality video game "Pokemon Go" developed by Niantic company, but as early as now there have been rumors buzzing the internet regarding the Pokemon-based mobile game which includes a supposed leaked footage of the gameplay.
Movie Pilot reported the gameplay footage to be from the South by Southwest Conference or SXSW in Texas where Niantic's CEO John Hanke made a talk. After Hanke spoke at the SXSW conference, the video was uploaded on the internet which claims to be a preview of Pokemon GO's gameplay content.
Based on the video, the gameplay seems to involve the phone camera as the player unravels the wild to search for Pokemons. All of a sudden, a wild Ivysaur appeared. The video then shows the player attempting to capture the wild Pokemon by throwing Pokeballs at the Ivysaur. The first attempt was by using an ordinary, small Pokeball, which when hurled at the wild Ivysaur, the Pokemon broke free. This prompted the player to use a Master Ball instead and the Pokemon was successfully captured. The ball was seen added to the player's collection with some experience points gained.
The gameplay is reminiscent to the previous handheld Pokemon games with the element of augmented reality. However, as noted in the Forbes website, the gameplay as shown in the leaked demo does not seem to involve actual strategies to catch a Pokemon. Instead of fighting the Pokemon to wear it down or make it sleep or stunned, the player seems to depend on the quality of the Pokeball and his finger accuracy to be able to successfully catch a Pokemon.
Pokemon GO has already been confirmed to be available for Android devices and selected Apple products, with the possibility of the game being a part of the new Nintendo X.
