'Pokemon GO' release date, news, update, rumors: Players can customize their avatar, no Pokemon starter given?

A leaked footage of the "Pokemon GO" gameplay is currently making its rounds online. The video reveals a lot of information regarding Niantic's still unpublished mobile gaming application, including the customizable avatar for the players and a new step-by-step process in capturing a wild Pokemon.

As reported by IGN, the new video revealing the mechanics and details of "Pokemon GO" has been posted online just recently. The video is about 9 minutes long, although it contains a lot of information about the new gameplay to be introduced in the gaming app. For one, the video reveals that the players are allowed to customize their characters' facial features and personalize their caps and outfits. The players can even choose their own accessories and backpacks.

However, there is something new in the new Pokemon game as shown in the video, specifically with the way a Pokemon trainer captures a wild Pokemon. This time, the player will not have any Pokemon starter to begin his journey. Instead, a starting Pokemon trainer will have to walk around the area and look for his own wild Pokemon to catch. This may be something that some Pokemon gamers are not familiar with, but there is also something different with the way the Poke Ball must be thrown in order to capture a Pokemon successfully.

In the video, the player was attempting to capture a Porygon. Towards the end of the footage, the player was successful in catching the wild Pokemon, and he was seen gaining additional experience after the catch.

Regarding the possible release date of "Pokemon GO," News Everyday reported that the final version of "Pokemon GO" may be released much earlier than expected, with the earliest possible release date of the game this June. While Niantic already revealed that the mobile app will be released within this year, the exact date of launching is still unknown. As of the moment, the fans are hoping that the game will be launched as early as Summer 2016. However, it should be noted that beta tests in different parts of Japan, Australia and New Zealand have just begun, and the testing rounds in the United States are not yet done.
