Pokemon GO release date news: To launch sometime this year

As of the meantime, there are no confirmed reports regarding the official release of Pokemon GO, the upcoming augmented reality game that will be made playable in Apple and Android mobile platforms. While people still have to wait for a confirmed launching date, it is known that the game is targeted to be released this year.

According to a report in Express UK website, Pokemon Company CEO Tsunekazu Ishihara confirmed in an interview with the Japanese publication Yomiuri Shimbun that only the places in Japan, North America, and Europe will get the first experience of playing the upcoming Niantic Inc.'s latest developed game. Afterwards, places in Asia, Africa, South America and Middle East will get to download the game on their devices. This will be quite frustrating for people in the places receiving the game at a later date as the details of the game will be spoiled first by those having the game on its first release date.

It was also revealed in the interview by Ishihara that aside from Pokemon GO, there will be another major Pokemon project in the works, although there are no further details disclosed at the moment about the game.

Pokemon GO has already been confirmed to made available for download by Android devices and selected Apple products, with the possibility of the game being a part of the new Nitendo X.  However, there is a bad news for those using devices with Microsoft's Windows operating system as Pokemon GO does not have a version for Windows OS, or the game version for that platform is still underway and has yet to be announced.

Regarding the charge in having the game in devices, Pokemon GO is likely to be the only game in Niantic's Pokemon game franchise to remove any charges to play the game. Players can download Pokemon GO in their devices for free. However, there will be instances to have charges such as in-app purchases of different features and add-on characters in the game.
