Niantic Labs is not resting on its laurels despite the massive success of "Pokemon Go." The company is looking for various ways to improve the game further so fans keep coming back to play it.

Although there was an obvious decline in players on "Pokemon Go" a couple of months after its launch, it still one of the most successful games released in recent times.

Niantic CEO John Hanke has teased their plans for increasing and spicing up the "Pokemon GO" experience during an episode of the "Recode Decode" podcast.

"It's been a busy two months, so we're now happy that we're kind of stabilized and able to start being a little more thoughtful about the next set of features that we want to build," Hanke said.

One of the features has to do with giving "Pokemon Go" players the ability to trade Pokemon with other players. Another is the inclusion of player-versus-player battles.

Both features are staples in original "Pokemon" video games, which means that soon enough, the hit augmented reality game will give loyal fans of the franchise comparable experience from the early beloved games.

Hanke also said that they "probably" will hold events for "Pokemon Go," which will take preparation. He recognizes that the challenge here is actually being able to accommodate the number of players that show up at an event.

"We want to make sure that if we do put on an event, we can adequately handle the number of people who would show up," he stated.

There is no information yet as to when "Pokemon Go" will get these features and if they are in active development. For now, fans will have to just wait.

Players can first explore the wonders of the "Pokemon Go Plus," which is now available for $35. The wearable will make it easier for fans to play the game as well as make the game easily accessible.
