Ditto, probably the most elusive of all "Pokémon" creatures, has now been officially caught in the hit augmented-reality mobile game app "Pokémon GO," reports have indicated.

The shape-shifting creature, whose notoriety has caught the attention of the game developers who expressed previously that having the critter in the game would amount to countless nights of perfecting its appearance, has been added to "Pokémon GO."

Accordingly, Ditto won't be showing up as Ditto itself on the map. He will appear as "something" else — he could go from being a pidgey or another creature that he can resemble himself into, among other common Pokémon, as he has this unique ability to transform into the creature he is battling with. Meanwhile, Ditto will only appear as his true self once the player is able to catch him triumphantly.

Now, for those who are in doubt of Ditto's legitimate capture, TechCrunch was able to confirm the creature after having to catch numerous Rattatas, Zubats, Magikarps and Pidgeys who may have just been Ditto in disguise. Moreover, the publication has also managed to place a screenshot of the Pokémon in action. In addition, IGN's Brendan Graeber was also able to capture the enigmatic critter in this image.

On the other hand, dataminers such as "The Silph Road," who initially made a report that Ditto's signature move "Transform" appeared in the game's data accompanied by an animation for the move, has now suggested that "seemingly any Pokemon can now transform into Ditto while the creature can utilize any of the "Pokémon's" skill or power.

A Legendary himself, Ditto was not included when Niantic's "Pokémon Go" was launched months ago. Its fellows Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, Mewtwo and Mew were somehow able to appear.
