PlayStation Neo release date news 2016: Amazon Spain listing spills PS4.5 Neo details?

A recent listing from Amazon Spain may have already spilled the important details of Sony's upcoming PlayStation 4.5 Neo. The listing even revealed the expected price of the latest PlayStation 4 model and its release date. It is also surprising for many gadget enthusiasts that the Amazon listing shows the same release date of the PlayStation VR headset as the updated PS4 design.
According to Amazon Spain's website, the PlayStation 4.5 Neo would have the price of €399.99, or about $442 USD once it comes out. Also, the release date of the PS4.5 Neo is expected to coincide with the launching of Sony's virtual reality (VR) headsets for gaming called the PlayStation VR. However, this listing for the PlayStation Neo has been removed from the website.
For the record, Sony has yet to release the official details regarding the price of the new PlayStation console and its release date. In fact, a representative from Sony has stepped out recently to clear up the Amazon Spain listing, saying that it was all just a misunderstanding. The said Amazon listing is supposed to be just for the PlayStation VR headset, Yibada reported.
The Sony representative also blamed the confusion to "poor choice of words" as people almost believed that the PlayStation 4.5 Neo is already coming up with the specified price. The public must therefore take the report about the Amazon Spain listing with a grain of salt.
Sony has earlier revealed the development of the PS4.5 NEO even before the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2016 happened last month in Los Angeles, California. However, the electronic entertainment company made no mention about the console during the event.
Digital Foundry's engineering expert, Richard Leadbetter, also noted of the PlayStation NEO's absence from the E3, and in spite of the console being a no-show, there is still a chance that NEO will surprise everyone with its launching this 2016, Eurogamer reported.
"Several sources have indicated to me that PlayStation Neo launches this year, despite its E3 no-show. If that is the case, it'll be interesting to see how developers utilize its resources, and whether 4K really is the focus. And we can be equally as sure that Microsoft will be watching just as intently as it gears up for its own next-gen roll-out," Leadbetter said in a statement.
With the absence of PS4.5 Neo at E3, many people expect that Sony will unveil their next big offering at the Tokyo Game Show 2016 or Gamescom 2016 at Germany this August, Express UK reported.
