PlayStation 5 release date update: Sony may release PlayStation 4.5 instead of PlayStation 5?

A lot has been said already regarding the rumored production of PlayStation 5. Rumors have started even during the release of PlayStation 4; however, Sony has been mum about the alleged product. While some are saying that PlayStation 5 is going to get launch in about 2 to 3 years, some are skeptic if it will ever be released by the company.

The reason for that is the alleged PlayStation 4.5. According to reports, Sony will focus on making a new version of the current PlayStation 4 instead of adding a new line of the series. Apparently, Sony is not yet ready to make the current model obsolete by launching a new device.

Kotaku reported that numerous sources are claiming that Sony Computer Entertainment is working on a big project that will blow the mind of its players and it is not PlayStation 5. Rumor has it that the company is currently developing a device that has an impressive 4K Ultra HD technology. If rumors prove to be true, fans will certainly love the idea of what Sony is currently cooking for them.

Although sources are saying that PlayStation 4.5 is not the official name, it would be a good idea to wait for the company to finally reveal the new project before making any assumptions.

According to reports, the new device will have impressive specs under the hood, which will be headed by an upgraded GPU chipset. This new chipset will be the machine behind the 4K Ultra HD resolution. This technology has yet to be found on any gaming console. If rumors prove to be true, this will be a major innovation for the company.

The device is also said to be compatible with the new PlayStation VR headset. If there is any weight to these new rumors, the gaming industry is definitely heading for a better future.
