PlayStation 4 Slim Release Date Rumors: Slim Versions of Consoles Is A Trend That Sony Will Never Break

Slim versions of consoles have been a trend even in the previous generations of consoles, especially for Sony. Their first ever console, the original PlayStation, also known as PSOne, had a slim version. Slim version of the PS2 and PS3 were also released.
A small percentage of people have been running into problems with their current PlayStation 4 console and it would seem like one of the solutions would be the introduction of the slim variant of Sony's current-gen console.
Slim versions of Sony consoles usually fix a lot of addressed issues like the Red (blinking) Light of Death on the PlayStation 3. This is the counterpart of Xbox 360's "Red Ring of Death". Slim versions, even for the Xbox consoles, prevented recurring problems like overheating among others. They also offered a more compact, but equally powerful set, which is practical for traveling with your favorite console and games.
While there's no word from Sony, fans and experts are speculating that Sony might announce the slim version of PlayStation 4 in the next E3 event in 2015.
For those who still don't own a PlayStation 4, perhaps it could be worth the wait for the slim version of the console.
