PlayStation 4 Neo release date, specs rumors 2016: Sony could release the PS4 Neo this year?

Reports have been circulating online for the last months that Sony will be releasing an upgraded version of PlayStation 4. Rumor has it that it will be called PlayStation Neo.
The device is said to support 4K resolution output and there are speculations that it will come out before 2016 ends.
If rumors prove to be true, this will be exciting for millions of gamers all over the world. Sony is not the only company that is trying to create an upgraded version of their current console. According to reports, Microsoft is apparently going into the same direction as rumors have been circulating that the company will also release an upgraded Xbox One, which will be called as Xbox One Slim, Tech Times reported.
According to Exploding Tuba Studios' Chris Tilton during his interview with GamingBolt, many fans may not care about these upgraded consoles because of its minimal upgrades.
"There really isn't an apt comparison for what MS and Sony are considering doing. It will be interesting to see how people respond to it when (if) these upgraded consoles are released. I have to imagine that your average console gamer does not care if a newer version has slightly higher resolution textures."
He believes that although most gamers opt to play using console for pure convenience, not all players might be able to afford it.
Meanwhile, in a report by Forbes, critics cite negative effects it could bring to both players and game developers. According to rumors, developers are being told that they could not create games specific for PlayStation 4 Neo. It has to be compatible with both Neo and the current PlayStation 4 model.
Although these pieces of information will stay as rumors and speculations until the Sony confirms the reports, critics are starting to wonder how players will receive the rumored PlayStation 4 Neo once it hits the shelves.
