'Pitch Perfect 3' release date news: Set for July 2017, Hailee Steinfeld to lead a new breed of Barden Bellas?

Box-office hit musical film "Pitch Perfect" has been announced to have a third installment, and fans will be excited to know that the much-awaited premiere has been moved up the calendar.
After the sequel's success this year, "Pitch Perfect 3" was initially scheduled to be released on August 4, 2017. However, Universal Pictures seems to be moving quickly with its production as the premiere date will nob be on July 21, 2017. As noted by Variety, actresses Rebel Wilson, Brittany Snow and Anna Kendrick already inked deals to be part of the cast once more, along with Kay Cannon as the writer and Elizabeth Banks to direct.
As of now, the production company has yet to announce an official plot for the upcoming film, but rumors have recently surfaced claiming that Hailee Steinfeld might lead a new breed of Barden Bellas. Steinfeld was first seen in "Pitch Perfect 2" as Emily Junk, and there are speculations that she will play a bigger role in the next film. New faces are also expected to make their way to the cast.
Universal Pictures' president of domestic distribution Nick Carpou mentioned in a press statement that the film's success can be attributed to its plot which focuses on different types of women, particularly in the new generation. "It starts with young female appeal, generally, and then expands beyond that thanks to careful marketing and publicity," he said.
Wilson, who plays Fat Amy in the film franchise and is part of the original cast, also gave her take on the upcoming film. "All the Bellas are together becoming a legit singing group out of college," the comedienne told The Hollywood Reporter. "I also think a Fat Amy origins story would be awesome."
As of the moment, only the premiere date has been revealed by the production company. Details about other cast members as well as plot details are still being kept under wraps, but fans should expect more updates in the coming months.
