A new English Premier League team will be added to "Pro Evolution Soccer 2017" ("PES 2017") and developer Konami intends to announce the name of the club at Gamescom 2016.

This was revealed by "PES" series community manager Adam Bhatti during an interview with Squawka. When pressed for clues, he had this to say: "Manchester United have recently signed a partnership with [Electronic Arts]. That's as much as I can say about [the Premier League licences] until Gamescom."

It is a bit tough to pinpoint which English Premier League will be announced for "PES 2017" at the convention. Thankfully, Gamescom is happening this week so the wait won't be that long.

Although he kept his cards close to his chest with regard to the English Premier League to join Arsenal in "PES 2017," he did tease that fans can expect licenses of a similar nature to be more integrated in the video game series.

"PES 2017" surprised gamers when they acquired Premium Partnership with Barcelona including Camp Nou, which PES signed in a three-season deal.

However, while Bhatti emphasized that this kind of deal is not possible with all teams, Konami intends to strike as many partnerships as they could get.

"We do have plans to sign more partnerships. The next one you hear about won't be the final one. We're going to keep doing this – it's a strategy," Bhatti explained.

"We can't get into a bidding war with EA – we have to be a bit more clever in how we obtain licences. PES doesn't sell as much as FIFA, but PES is sustainable," he continued.

Apart from the English Premier League reveal for "PES 2017," Konami will also unveil the stadium list coming to the game. Bhatti guaranteed more stadiums in the new game and that fans will be very happy with the lineup.

Lastly, Bhatti promised improved animation and visuals for "PES 2017." Full FIFA even went so far as to declare the game as "absolutely way better" than "FIFA 2017."

Watch out for "PES 2017" announcements at Gamescom, which is happening in Cologne, Germany from Aug. 18 to 21.
