The fifth season of CBS hit TV series "Person of Interest" is set to premiere on May 3 with a very thrilling opening sequence to surprise the viewers. It was also reported that the upcoming fifth season will also be the closing chapter of the suspense drama TV show starring Jim Caviezel. However, there are hints that there might still be a follow-up season after Season 5.

The executive producers and showrunners of "Person of Interest," Jonathan Nolan and Greg Plageman, has already confirmed during an interview with IGN that the fifth season will tie all loose ends and put the story of John Reese (Caviezel) and Harold Finch (Michael Emerson) to rest. In spite of this sad news for the fans, it looks like there is still a glimmer of hope left with an online petition aiming to grant the show another whole season. However, Cross Map reported that the petition is addressed to Netflix and not CBS. It specifically asks Netflix to take over the production of "Person of Interest" after the final season on CBS. If ever this petition was granted, this will be the first time for the show to be aired in other network media.

Yibada reported that the title of "Person of Interest" Season 5 is "B.S.O.D." which is the abbreviated term for "Blue Screen of Death." This is the term used to describe a major failure in a computer system where the display screen of the computer flashes the blue color, and a white text appears on the screen saying that the system has crashed. This may be attributed to the previous season's final scenes where a very important tool for Reese's team called "The Machine" was compromised. Reese and Root (Amy Acker) were seen trying to revive "The Machine" until their efforts were interrupted by a sudden power surge. The opening sequence of Season 5 will begin with Reese and Finch recovering what's left of "The Machine." Also, Root is going to face another dilemma after "The Machine" issues as the Samaritan agents will try to put her down.
